Content Warning: Acquiescence is a visual novel with various types of horror elements, disturbing imagery and themes, and gruesome deaths.

Story:

Acquiescence is set in a world where humanity’s technological and industrial progress has proliferated the abnormal and the supernatural. Secretive organizations such as Blue Horizon exist to, control, destroy, or exploit these threats before they corrupt what little remains of Earth’s dwindling resources, which are now scarce following the Fourth World War.

You are C-673-CHIMERA, an anthropomorphic wolf who awakens in a sterile Blue Horizon installation with lost memories and is haunted by visions of a sinister entity known as the Warform.

Under the watch of researchers Blackwood and Lucien, you realize that you possess an ability to glimpse into the afterlife, a power that has drawn the attention of Horizon's mysterious leadership. But as your nightmarish visions worsen and more unsettling implications are discovered, the organization suddenly descends into chaos, initiating mass purges and declaring war on humanity itself.

Now being hunted, Blackwood, Lucien, and yourself must escape before you’re all silenced for good. But with Horizon's agents of newfound evil closing in from all sides and the Warform’s influence growing stronger, survival might only lead to the start of something far worse.

About:

Acquiescence is a story set in my Blue Horizon universe, which features supernatural horror and science fiction themes. The story is inspired by numerous SCP Foundation tales (such as SCP-5000 and "What Happened To Site 13?") Crossed, Soulcreek, Project G-1, and others.  Some scenes are inspired by various internet horror videos.

Acquiescence is intended to be very grim and not for the faint of heart. Sexual content will also be featured in this story.

Future Plans:

This VN is currently in its demo phase and the rest of Chapter 1 is still under works.  In the future we may consider creating a Patreon, so stay tuned if you enjoy what we've got so far and wish to obtain early access to updates, developer commentary, and perhaps more! The more funding we have to work with, the more we will be able to do with this project, and the more amazing it'll be when it's finished!

Oh that was so good for a start, love me some SCP-inspired media I can't wait for the next update! :OOO

Thanks for reading! :3

For a first version, I loved the story's narrative, along with its artistic style.

Each of the characters shown seems interesting, although only one doesn't stand out enough, but it seems like he'll become more relevant later in the story.

As for the world structure, I can't say much. But that's because it's an introductory section and focused on the protagonist and his establishment in the current environment, his story, and the possible plot that will have weight within the visual novel.

Although, I feel like I was expecting something more than what was shown, and I think it's because I saw some showcases that were related to this? But you're probably saving that for later, so I'm looking forward to what you have in store for the next update.

Pretty good start! It’s a bit weird that the story section in this page talks about stuff not in the current build, but whatever. The plot for now is intriguing enough to follow. Quite a lot of things happen in a short time, but it’s not too much yet. The visual presentation is really good. The sprites and backgrounds work together and the CGs are well placed. The audio part is not as well furnished. Most notably, the slow tense music continuing during the actiony escape sequence is a bit jarring. Sound effects could be nice, too. In the end, the build finished earlier than I expected, but what’s there is good. Keep at it!
